General Skilled Migration Visa

General Skilled Migration allows aplicants to migate to Australia without having an employer as their sponsor. It is the most popular form of migration.

To be eligible for this visa, applicant must be skilled in occupation that is in demand in Australia. Applicants are selected based on factors such as occupation, work experience, education qualification, age and English ability.

Types of Visa under Skilled Migration

  • Subclass 189 (Skilled Indepedent Visa)
  • Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa)
  • Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional Visa)

Application Process

  • Check eligibility and complete Skill Assessment
    • Applicants will submit their CV and other details to their agent to check for the migration eligibility through consultations
    • Skill Assessment to be done by the applicants in order to proceed with the migration process
    • This process can take up to 12 weeks
  • Submit Expression of Interest
    • Upon a successful assessment, applicant is required to submit an Expression of Interest
    • This Expression of Interest will put the applicants in the queue
    • This process can take from 3 to 9 months depending on the need of skill code
  • Get Invitation
    • Once the Expression of Interest is submitted, applicants can get invitation from the Australian Government, employers and state to apply for skilled visa
  • Visa Application
    • Upon getting the visa invitation, applicant can submit all their documents and wait for their visa grant which would take roughly from 6 – 9 months
